Exercise Physiology

Exercise Physiology is one of the largest growth fields in the allied health industry of the past decade. Exercise Physiologists (EPs) are the specialists in the prescription of a range of specific, targeted exercises to combat a wide array of health and physical issues.

Here at Kirribilli Allied Health, EP sits perfectly in the mix as we look to improve the health & wellbeing of our patients, long after an injury or a painful episode has passed. We don’t want to just get you out of pain; it’s our obligation as health professionals to work with you to do everything we can to make sure it doesn’t come back.

Our EP service is NDIS-approved, and we love helping out people under this plan whether they be self-managed, plan-managed or agency-managed.

How is EP different to Physio?

Good question! Essentially, if there is an injury or a specific diagnosis of something that has been recently damaged (eg. sprained ankle, lower back injury), you’ll need to get a physio or chiro to look at that first to get a proper diagnosis. Once you’re ready to commence exercise rehab for that injury, that’s where EP comes in.

OR, if you’ve got a condition that doesn’t require a specific diagnosis, or you’re just after an expert who can help design a plan to manage a condition such as diabetes, heart disease or other metabolic disorders, EP is the perfect solution.
